Rutherford County, Tennessee has a population of over 218,292. The county is 624 square miles. According to statistics there are 47,440 families in the county. It is predominantly white at 85.73% and 9.51% black. Then the rest of the population are mainly Native American.

It was named after Griffith Rutherford who was a political leader in North Carolina and an important man in the early history of Tennessee. He was born 1721 and passed 1805. Murfreesboro Tennessee
